In Louisiana, President Trump won with 58.5% of the votes for him. Louisiana holds 8 electoral votes.
Louisiana Amendment 1 was also voted on. The Amendment states, “This measure would amend the Constitution of Louisiana to state that nothing in that constitution protects a right to abortion or requires the funding of abortion.”
62.1% voted “yes”, which supports establishing that nothing in the Louisiana constitution grants a right to abortion, according to CNN.
Louisiana had four senatorial candidates running. Republicans Cassidy and Murphy and Democrats Perkins and Pierce.
Republican Cassidy won the race for senator with 59.3% of the votes.
The house is made up of six counties. The republicans will take the house, but “House: 5” is still counting ballots with republican Letlow in the lead.
