With over half the votes in, the South Dakota gubernatorial race is still in a dead heat.

 

Republican candidate Kristi Noem holds a razor-thin lead over democratic candidate Billie Sutton.

 

Noem leads Sutton by a little over 1,000 votes, holding a 49.6 to 49 percent lead.

 

As of 10:17 p.m., 52 percent of the votes have been tallied.
