UPDATE 10:22 PM
With only 19% of the votes in for the senate race in Connecticut, Democrat candidate Chris Murphy is slated to win against Republican candidate Matthew Corey.
Murphy is the current incumbent in the seat, giving himself a slight advantage over his opponent. Murphy has also been serving the state of Connecticut since 1999 unlike his opponent who leads with a blue-collar approach and has never held office.
As the numbers roll in, Murphy is in the lead with 58.9% of the votes with Corey at 39.9%. The likelihood of this switching is extremely low.
While not the most exciting race in terms of controversy or surprising candidates, both candidates still have their own striking issues that make them different.
