UPDATE 10:02 PM

The Mississippi Senate election update results show 45 seats for the Republicans and 35 seats for the Democrats.

 

So far, Republican Roger Wicker is leading the polls with 56.1% of votes against Democrat David Baria with 41.2% of votes.

 

The Republican Party will need a total of 51 seats for control.

UPDATE 12:02 PM

With no candidate getting 50% of the vote, Mississippi’s race for Senate is tied up between Republican Cindy Hyde-Smith and Democrat Mike Espy.

 

On November 27th the candidates will compete in a runoff.
